Functional Mobilization is a hands-on treatment approach that focuses on the whole person, rather than individual body parts. It involves evaluation and treatment of how human beings move via specific evaluation of joints, muscles, facia, nerves, and organs.
The focus is on identifying the underlying cause(s) of pain and movement restrictions, applying hands on techniques to improve movement and decrease pain, and then retraining movement patterns to prevent recurrence of symptoms.
Movement patterns include walking, running, lifting/bending over, breathing, rolling and crawling.
